Biography

Born in Vigo in 1984, Iván started studying music with Rita Ivaskeviciute.

He graduated in Piano Performance at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya with Rafael Salinas (PhD). He was given a Mention of Honor for his Research Project "Recursos expresivos en las últimas sonatas de Beethoven" (Expression Resources in Beethoven's Last Sonatas), performing the sonatas op. 109, Op 110 and op. 111 by the composer.

In 2015 he finished his Master's Degree at the Gnessin Academy of Music in Moscow with Vera B. Nosina (Honored Artist of Russia) and awarded the Red Diploma (Cum Laude). 

In 2013 he won First Prize and recieved an awarded for Best Performance of Russian Music at the 14th International Classical Music Competition in Ruza (Russia). In 2009 he was a finalist at the Llíria Young Performer's International Competition and he was awarded a scholarship in Excellence from the Anna Riera Foundation.
 

His first recording  with works by R. Schumann and A. Gaos was released in 2022.

He has recieved classes and Master Classes from Leonid N. Sintsev, Pavel Dombrovsky, Lidya Reznikova, Tatiana Tarnavskaya, Jarosław Drzewiecki, Arcadi Volodos, Douglas Humpherys, Alba Ventura, Rasa Biveiniene, Ramon Coll, Salvador Mas, Michal Drewnowski, Meira Farkas, Natalia Posnova, Ingrid Sotolarova, Yuri Bogdanov, Christian Zacharias, Luis Pipa, Josep Colom, Cuartet Canals and Leonel Morales, among others.


He has taught at the Unión Musical de Benaguacil (Valencia, 2011-2012) and at "Conservatorio Mayeusis" and "CEMU Superior" (Vigo, 2018-2020).

He currently teaches Piano at the "Conservatorio Profesional e Escola de Música de Arzúa".
